Job Details:

• Location: Putnam County, NY (Putnam Valley Central School District)
• Grade Levels: Elementary and Secondary Education (K–12)
• Schedule: Days per week / Schedule TBD
• Hours: Hours TBD
• Pay: $25 per hour

In this role, you will:

• Deliver Tutoring Services: Provide tutoring in Elementary and Secondary Education (K–12) at designated district facilities or within students' homes, as required.
• Differentiate Instruction: Adapt instructional methods and strategies to meet individual student needs, including capabilities to support English Language Learners (ELLs/ENLs) aligned with New York ENL standards.
• Assess & Monitor Progress: Assess student progress, adjust instruction accordingly, and manage learning dynamics to foster a productive environment.
• Maintain Communication: Maintain effective and ongoing communication with students, parents/guardians, and school staff.
• Track Documentation & Reporting: Submit and maintain required records, including student attendance records for each session, periodic student progress reports, and session logs detailing instructional content and activities.
• Ensure FERPA Compliance: Strictly protect student confidentiality and maintain the security of all student data and records in compliance with FERPA regulations.

• A valid New York State (NYS) teaching certificate in Elementary or Secondary Education.
• Can provide upon hire, clearance for employment from the New York State Education Department, including fingerprinting and a criminal history background check.
• Experience working with struggling students and at-promise populations is preferred 
• Documentation of education, training, prior experience, and verification of current professional licensure.
• Have classroom experience teaching or supporting reading instruction
• Can complete the fingerprinting process within 48 hours of an offer
• You can provide 3 professional references
• You are detail-oriented and highly dependable
• You are an effective communicator 
• You have reliable transportation
• You can provide a negative tuberculosis test within 2 weeks of being hired
• You love learning, teaching, and empowering others to soar!
