While we work with students across the country, our immediate opening is:
Location:
- San Francisco County
- IN PERSON, with the option for some virtual sessions
- San Francisco, CA 94102 (San Francisco Public Library, 100 Larkin Street)
- San Francisco, CA 94103 (in-home)
- San Francisco, CA 94115 (in-home)
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is required
- IN PERSON, with the option for some virtual sessions
Schedule:
- Tuesday and Thursday evenings
Hours:
- 3-5 hours per week, with the possibility of 10+ hours per week within 30 days by working additional virtual or in-person hours.
Pay:
- $25-$30 per hour based on experience.
- Reimbursement for public transportation up to $6 (MTA, BART)
In this role, you will:
- Tutor K12 students in ELA, Math, and cognitive skills, including 6th and 8th grade math and English Language Development.
- Mentor and tutor a Pre-K student, supporting English Language Development and cognitive skill building; experience with speech and language development needs is a plus.
- Develop a positive and trusting relationship with your assigned students.
- Provide small group or one-on-one tutoring sessions using the provided curriculum and learning technology.
- Manage classroom dynamics to ensure a conducive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Document session notes and provide reports to StudentNest and its clients.

- You can provide 3 professional references
- You have a minimum of 60 units of college credits
- You have at least one year of student-related experience
- You are detail-oriented and highly dependable
- You are an effective communicator
- You have reliable transportation
- You can provide a negative tuberculosis test within 2 weeks of being hired
