While we work with students across the country, our immediate openings are:        

Location: 

  • San Francisco County
  • In-person locations (public locations like libraries, museums, etc.) 

Schedule: 

  • Youth Mentor and Tutor must speak English and Spanish
  • Flexible hours and days of the week
  • We have multiple students currently awaiting mentoring and tutoring
    • Grades PreK and 11th 
    • Math, Physics, ELA-Reading/Writing, Mentoring/ Tutoring for English Language Development and Cognitive Skill building 

Hours: 

  • Part-time to full-time, flexible days and hours
  • Up to 30+ hours per week

Pay:  

  • $22 per hour standard  
  • $23 per hour if bilingual (English & Spanish)  
  • $24 per hour if credentialed teacher or certificated tutor 

In this role, you will: 

  • Develop a positive and trusting relationship with your assigned youth/young adult mentee
  • Help your mentee develop important life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and financial literacy
  • Participate in fun and engaging activities that align with your mentee's interests
  • Be a supportive role model and source of encouragement
  • Provide small group tutoring sessions to students using the provided curriculum and learning technology.
  • Manage classroom dynamics to ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

  • Can complete the fingerprinting process within 48 hours of an offer
  • You will pass FBI/DOJ background check
  • You can provide 3 professional references
  • You have a minimum of 60 units of college credits
  • You have at least one year of student-related experience
  • You are detail-oriented and highly dependable
  • You are an effective communicator 
  • You have reliable transportation
  • You can provide a negative tuberculosis test within 2 weeks of being hired
  • You love learning, teaching, and empowering others to soar
